LANSING — State Sen. Judy Emmons announced Thursday that she is extending a “Season of Giving” drive she is hosting in Isabella County to collect donations of mittens, gloves, hats and canned food for local families in need.
“Michigan winters can be harsh, and unfortunately some mid-Michigan residents struggle to put food on the table and keep their families warm,” said Emmons, R-Sheridan. “Christmas brings about a season of giving, so I am pleased to extend a donation drive at my district office in Mt. Pleasant until December 19.”
Emmons’ Season of Giving donation drive began on Nov. 20 and will now take place through Wednesday, Dec. 19. Residents can drop off mittens, gloves, hats and canned food at the district office on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents may also donate an unwrapped toy for a child in need in the Toys for Tots drop-off box located in Emmons’ district office.
The 33rd District Office is located in the Labelle Building at 405 S. Mission St., Suite D in Mt. Pleasant. Guests are encouraged to park on the northeast side of the building and enter through the side door.
“This season of giving is also a moment of reflection for us to appreciate our many blessings and give what we can to those in need,” Emmons said. “The generosity of our community can help ensure the season is bright for every mid-Michigan family.”
