LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Judy Emmons on Wednesday applauded the announcement that a Rockford-based business will be building a new manufacturing facility and collaborative workspace in Montcalm County.
“This investment in mid-Michigan will create 32 well-paying jobs in Lakeview, which is outstanding news for the people of Lakeview and the entire mid-Michigan community,” said Emmons, R-Sheridan. “I applaud the local and state officials for working together with Byrne Electrical Specialists to make this economic opportunity possible. I also want to thank Byrne for making a commitment to our region and the entire state.”
Byrne Electrical Specialists has been in Rockford since 1971 and is currently in the midst of a $1.5 million expansion at its headquarters.
The company, in partnership with property investors Pickle Dock LLC, is investing $750,000 for a new manufacturing facility in Lakeview. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation has awarded Byrne a $160,000 performance-based grant tied to job creation and training.
Byrne projects an additional 50-75 new full-time jobs in 2016 thanks to the two expansion projects.
Byrne is a power and data-solutions manufacturer and supplier for numerous industries, including contract furniture, hospitality, educational and healthcare environments. It currently serves more than 100 regional customers.
